ABOUT En-AGE

What is En-AGE?

The En-AGE portal is a dynamic, module-based resource focused on common later life transitions, and the role occupational therapists play in supporting our navigation of these transitions. The unique strategies, tools, and technologies that occupational therapists use to support our health and well-being through these transitions are highlighted using research, quotes, and stories from older adults and occupational therapists.

Who Are We?

The En-AGE portal was developed by the Seniors Advisory Council. This panel assists the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) in monitoring, identifying, and addressing issues affecting older adults through integrating practices from occupational therapy. The panel is made up of occupational therapists with various experiences working with seniors and/or communities that address seniors’ health and well-being. The development of the En-AGE web portal was also supported by occupational therapist students and interns. Learn more about the Senior Advisory Panel members HERE.

Evidence And Experience-Driven Research

Using the best scientific evidence available, the En-AGE modules illustrate the value of using an occupational lens to respond to the needs of a growing senior population.

Over the span of two years, we have consulted and engaged seniors, caregivers, occupational therapy clinicians, and academics to develop the En-AGE portal. It is their voices and stories reflected in these modules.

Our vision of En-AGE is a dynamic and evolving resource. To ensure that diverse lived experiences are represented and that En-AGE is a relevant and meaningful resource, we invite you to share your experiences, resources, and feedback with us.

Who Is This For?

En-AGE is made with the needs of older adults, informal caregivers, occupational therapists and policymakers in mind.

The modules provide information about common life transitions experienced around and after retirement age, highlighting how occupational therapy can support adults and those caring for them to navigate these transitions.

We draw from the most relevant resources, offering policymakers leading information on the many ways occupational therapists call for legislative changes to support older adults.

En-AGE is also a venue to inform and inspire occupational therapists by highlighting and inspiring innovative practices; providing insights into the life journeys and challenges of their older clients; and sharing links to evolving evidence and resources. It is a space for occupational therapists to demonstrate and celebrate their place as unique leaders in client care.
